it's kinda freaky when your co-workers save up their post-its just for this moment.  either they really hate me or really love me.

Summer's pretty much over.  Labor Day's passed, school's back in session, and I guess there won't be any need for awhile to keep my window slightly open at night.   So much and nothing happened over the summer.  What did I do?  It's all a big fantastic blur.  A lot of meeting and getting to know and then really getting to know folks.  Although Phileo didn't officially take place during the summer, we sure did see each other quite a bit.  Played a lot of golf.  Hung out.  Talked.  And while cell groups were on summer hiatus, the women got together for a weekly bible study and prayer group.  It was just awesome.  :)  This past weekend, a small group of Phileo folks camped over at Ocean Shores.  My first time there.  It was awesome.  Kites, mopeds, and smores and sharing around the campfire.  A perfect ending to the summer and a perfect transition as we start up Phileo again on Friday.

Fall's basically here and soon winter.  Lots of planning for church, including Thanksgiving, 15th anniversary, Christmas.  Work's crazy too.  Before I know it, it'll be December and my dad'll be back in town.  Eeek!!  Okay, I need to stop getting ahead of myself or else I just might fall into some depression funk.  For now, I'll just think about tonight:  I'm going to praise practice (yay!!) and then baking a couple of cakes (whoohoo!!).

Sorry I should've posted these sooner, but here are pics from the last night John and Janet were in WA.  I can't believe it's almost been a month since they abandoned us.

I've been tagged by mangga

Post 5 weird and random facts about yourself, then at the end, list the names of 5 people who are next in line to do this. Also leave a post on their xanga to let these people know.

1.  I used to announce blue light specials at K-Mart.
2.  When I was a baby, I was left alone strapped in the car, which coasted down the street until a neighbor chased it down and stopped it. (abridged version)
3.  I tiptoe when I cook.
4.  I always thought if I had a daughter, I would name her after my mother (Lina) and my daughter's name would be Angelina.  That name is no longer in the running.
5.  Driving home, I take 30-min (sometimes longer) detours because my car is my own karaoke sanctuary.

I am now tagging:

- andyfootography (i'm so bummed i didn't get to see you guys last night)
- flyinggiraffe
- jaensam -- oooh, maybe i can get 2 for 1  :)

On Tuesday, I got a cavity filled.  I decided to go with the metal instead of the tooth-colored filling since it was cheaper and wouldn't be noticed anyway since it's one of the back teeth.  Later that day I questioned my choice because the filling was really starting to bother me.  Throughout the day an electrical pulse kept shooting into my tooth or my tongue.  It's the kind of dull shock I would get whenever I bit on aluminum foil or used certain forks.  I talked to my dentist and apparently my new filling and an old filling it rubbed against whenever I bit created an electrical charge.  Talking and singing made it worse.  I was so miserable and annoyed, and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to lead worship during the retreat this weekend.  I asked my bible study group to pray for me.  It's been a coupla days, and as my dentist predicted, it's not so bad anymore.  So I guess God still wants me to help lead this weekend.  Cool.

Happy Belated Posting of Your B-day Pics, Jessica!

I am 5 days late posting this, but I promised I would do it, so here it is.  For those who don't know the ladies pictured above, they are my best friends from high school (class of '93!).  From left to right:  Sarah, Celeste, and Jessica.  If I ever get married, they are the ones who are gonna be singing at my wedding.  I love that we get together every other month.  And now that they're blogging everyday, it seems I'm always in touch with them.

On Saturday, we belatedly celebrated Jessica's birthday at my house.  Sarah introduced this boardgame Loaded Questions, and it was so much fun.  (Btw, Sarah, I played the game again yesterday, but this time we answered truthfully since we all don't know each other well yet.  So rather than the backstabbing, framing way we played it, it was a good, clean, different kind of fun.)  Anyhoo, it's a game for all, whether strangers or best friends, to play.

Jess, when did you start wearing glasses?  I just realized it while posting these pics.
